[서울=뉴시스]박영환 기자 = 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령의 국정 수행 긍정평가가 32%로 떨어져 퀴니피액대가 트럼프 대통령 1·2기에 실시한 전국조사 중 최저를 기록했다. 29일(현지시간) 더힐에 따르면 미국 코네티컷주의 퀴니피액대학교가 이날 발표한 전국 여론조사에서 조사에 응한 등록 유권자의 32%가 트럼프 대통령의 직무 수행을 긍정적으로 평가했다. 부정평가는 58%였으며 10%는 의견을 밝히지 않았다. 지지율 32%는 6월24일 발표된 직전 조사에서 기록한 38%보다 6%포인트 낮다. 2017년 1월 이후 퀴니피액대가 실시한 트럼프 대통령 관련 전국조사 중 가장 낮은 수치로, 종전 최저였던 33%도 밑돌았다. 공화당 지지층에서는 76%가 트럼프 대통령의 직무 수행을 긍정적으로 평가했고 12%는 부정적으로 평가했다. 직전 조사에서는 긍정평가가 85%, 부정평가가 9%였다. 민주당 지지층에서는 3%가 긍정적으로, 94%가 부정적으로 평가했다. 무당층에서는 긍정평가가 22%, 부정평가가 67%였다. 백악관 대변인은 더힐에 “트럼프 대통령보다 미국 국민을 위해 더 많은 일을 이룬 대통령은 없다”며 “대통령은 일자리를 만들고 물가를 안정시키며 주거비 부담을 낮추기 위해 쉬지 않고 일하고 있다”고 반박했다. 같은 조사에서는 이란전쟁을 부정적으로 평가한 응답도 많았다. 퀴니피액대 조사는 지난 2월28일 시작된 미국·이란 전쟁이 이어지는 가운데 실시됐다. 전쟁 발발 이후 29일 기준 미군 18명이 숨졌고, 원유 공급 차질로 에너지 가격이 오르면서 미국 경제에도 부담이 커졌다. 퀴니피액대 조사 응답자의 60%는 미국의 대이란 군사행동에 반대했고 34%는 지지했다. 트럼프 대통령의 이란 대응에 대해서는 28%가 긍정적으로, 66%가 부정적으로 평가했다. 미국이 이란과의 전쟁에서 이기고 있느냐는 질문에는 54%가 “이기지 못하고 있다”고 답했다. “이기고 있다”는 응답은 36%였으며 11%는 의견을 밝히지 않았다. 전쟁을 치르며 든 비용과 얻은 이익을 고려할 때 이란과 싸울 가치가 있었느냐는 질문에는 66%가 “가치가 없었다”고 답했다. “가치가 있었다”는 응답은 31%였다. 민주당 지지층의 93%와 무당층의 73%는 가치가 없었다고 답한 반면 공화당 지지층의 67%는 가치가 있었다고 응답했다. 퀴니피액대 조사는 7월23~27일 미국 본토의 등록 유권자 963명을 대상으로 유선·휴대전화 실시간 면접 방식으로 진행됐다. 전체 응답자 기준 표본오차는 설계효과를 포함해 ±4.1%포인트다. ◎공감언론 뉴시스 yunghp@newsis.com

According to The Hill on the 29th (local time), in a national poll released that day by Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, 32% of registered voters surveyed rated President Trump's job performance positively. His disapproval rating was 58%, and 10% did not express an opinion. The 32% approval rating is 6 percentage points lower than the 38% recorded in the previous poll released on June 24. The Quinnipiac University survey was conducted as the war between the U.S. and Iran, which began on February 28, continued. As of the 29th, 18 U.S. soldiers had died since the outbreak of the war, and the burden on the U.S. economy has increased as energy prices have risen due to disruptions in crude oil supplies. 60% of Quinnipiac University respondents opposed U.S. military action against Iran, while 34% supported it. Regarding President Trump’s response to Iran, 28% evaluated it positively, while 66% evaluated it negatively. When asked whether the United States is winning the war against Iran, 54% answered that it is “not winning.” 36% responded that it is “winning,” while 11% did not express an opinion. When asked whether fighting Iran was worthwhile considering the costs incurred and the benefits gained, 66% answered that it was “not worth it.” 31% answered that it was “worth it.” While 93% of Democratic supporters and 73% of independents answered that it was not worth it, 67% of Republican supporters answered that it was worth it. The Quinnipiac University survey was conducted from July 23 to 27 using real-time landline and mobile phone interviews with 963 registered voters in the continental United States.
