‘로비 의혹’ 불거진 축협 청문회... 국힘 윤용근, 정몽규에 “배려못해 송구” 문자 논란

관련 문자 내용이 공개되자 더불어민주당은 청문회 대상자와 위원 간 부적절한 접촉이 있었던 것 아니냐며 강하게 문제를 제기했다.
When the contents of the text messages were revealed, the Democratic Party of Korea strongly raised concerns, asking if there had been inappropriate contact between the hearing subject and the committee members.
민주당 소속 이재정 문체위원장은 정 전 회장에게 “청문회를 준비하는 과정에서 청문위원들에게 로비를 위해 접촉한 적이 있느냐”며 “위원들에게 직접 연락이 안 돼 여러 루트를 통해 미리 선을 대려고 한 것인가”라고 추궁했다.
Lee Jae-jung, the Democratic Party member and chair of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, questioned former Chairman Jeong, asking, “Did you contact the committee members to lobby them while preparing for the hearing?” and “Did you try to establish connections in advance through various channels because you could not reach the members directly?”
이에 정 전 회장은 “프라이버시라 밝힐 수 없다”며 문자에 언급된 ‘정 선배’의 신원 공개를 거부했다.
In response, former Chairman Jeong refused to disclose the identity of ‘Senior Jeong’ mentioned in the text message, saying, “I cannot reveal it because it is a matter of privacy.”
다만 “청문회를 앞두고 오해를 살 수 있는 문자에 대해 부적절했다고 생각한다”며 “국민께 사과드린다.
However, stating, “I believe the text message was inappropriate and could cause misunderstanding ahead of the hearing,” he added, “I apologize to the public.”
청문회와 관련해 특별한 부탁이나 편의를 요청한 사실은 없다”고 해명했다.
"I did not make any special requests or ask for any conveniences in connection with the hearing," he explained.
윤 의원도 논란 진화에 나섰다.
Representative Yoon also stepped in to quell the controversy.
그는 “이 문자로 인해 청문회에 문제가 있다거나 질의가 부실했다고 생각하지 않는다”며 “준비한 질의를 그대로 했는데 왜 문제가 되는지 모르겠다”고 말했다.
He said, “I do not think there was a problem with the hearing or that the questioning was inadequate because of this text,” adding, “I asked the questions exactly as I had prepared, so I don’t know why it is a problem.”
민주당 노종면 의원은 “청문회 활동을 방해했다는 의혹이 제기된 사안”이라며 “‘정 선배’가 정진석 전 대통령비서실장이 맞느냐”고 거듭 물었지만 정 전 회장은 “프라이버시와 관련된 문제라 말씀드리지 않겠다”며 끝내 답변하지 않았다.
Democratic Party lawmaker No Jong-myeon repeatedly asked, “This is a matter in which allegations were raised that he obstructed hearing activities,” and asked, “Is ‘Senior Jeong’ indeed former Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok?” but former Chairman Jeong refused to answer, saying, “I will not comment as it is a matter of privacy.”
이어 “‘정 선배’가 정 전 실장이 아닌가.
He continued, “‘Senior Jeong’ is not former Chief of Staff Jeong.”
아니면 말 못 하는 것인가”라고 재차 묻자 정 전 회장은 “말씀드릴 수 없다”고 거듭 밝혔다.
When asked again, “Or are you unable to speak?” former Chairman Jeong repeatedly stated, “I cannot tell you.”
