Two years of remote work

Gracias por aceptar esta entrevista, Sandrine. Hace ya dos años que su empresa ofrece el teletrabajo a tiempo completo. ¿Qué balance hace de ello?

Thank you for accepting this interview, Sandrine. It has now been two years since your company started offering full-time remote work. What is your assessment of it?

En general, es muy positivo. Cuando implantamos el teletrabajo en 2024, muchos responsables temían que la productividad bajara. En realidad, ocurrió lo contrario.

Overall, it is very positive. When we introduced remote work in 2024, many managers were afraid that productivity would drop. In reality, the opposite happened.

Nuestros equipos son más autónomos y los resultados están ahí.

Our teams are more autonomous and the results are there.

¿No ha encontrado ninguna dificultad?

You haven't encountered any difficulties?

Sí, claro. El mayor reto es mantener la cohesión del equipo. Cuando ya no os cruzáis junto a la máquina de café, hay que encontrar otras formas de crear vínculos.

Yes, of course. The biggest challenge is maintaining team cohesion.

Pusimos en marcha videoconferencias informales los viernes por la tarde, una especie de aperitivo virtual.

When you no longer bump into each other at the coffee machine, you need to find other ways to build connections. We set up informal video calls on Friday afternoons, a kind of virtual happy hour.

Y organizamos un seminario presencial cada trimestre, a menudo en Burdeos o en Montpellier.

And we organize an in-person seminar every quarter, often in Bordeaux or Montpellier.

¿Cómo gestionan la frontera entre la vida profesional y la vida personal?

How do you manage the boundary between professional life and personal life?

Es el punto más delicado. Al principio, algunos colaboradores trabajaban hasta las diez de la noche porque ya no conseguían desconectar.

That is the most delicate point. At the beginning, some employees worked until ten in the evening because they could no longer disconnect.

Tuvimos que establecer un derecho a la desconexión estricto: ningún mensaje profesional después de las seis y media de la tarde, salvo urgencia absoluta.

We had to put in place a strict right to disconnect: no professional messages after six thirty in the evening, except in absolute emergencies.

Y por parte de los empleados, ¿hay comentarios negativos?

And on the employees' side, is there any negative feedback?

Algunos echan de menos la vida de oficina. El aislamiento puede pesar, sobre todo para quienes viven solos.

A few of them miss office life. Isolation can weigh on you, especially for those who live alone.

Les ofrecemos trabajar desde un espacio de coworking, cuya cuota cubre la empresa.

We offer them the possibility of working from a coworking space, for which the company covers the subscription.

Si tuviera que recomendar el teletrabajo a otra empresa, ¿qué diría?

If you had to recommend remote work to another company, what would you say?

Que no es una solución milagrosa, pero que, si está bien gestionado, todo el mundo sale ganando: la empresa, los empleados e incluso el medio ambiente, ya que suprimimos miles de trayectos en coche cada año.

That it is not a miracle solution, but that if it is well managed, everyone benefits: the company, the employees, and even the environment, since we eliminate thousands of car trips every year.
